The Pulse Between Worlds – (working title)
by Inessa Kalabekova
At this first stage of my doctoral journey, I am reaching out — calling across distances — to invite eight creative individuals to join me in The Pulse Between Worlds. I am seeking artists, performers, storytellers, and cultural practitioners whose practices carry distinct rhythms, memories, and visions of the world. The number eight is not a coincidence; it holds within it the shape of eternity, a flow without beginning or end. Across cultures, it speaks of balance, renewal, and the harmony between spirit and matter — a pulse that continues to move between worlds.
I imagine this gathering as a living constellation — a circle of exchange where each participant becomes a heartbeat within a larger rhythm. Each voice, movement, or image offered becomes part of a shared choreography — one that listens to what happens between rather than what stands apart. Meaning will not be imposed but will arise organically, through resonance, through the quiet recognition that we are shaped as much by others as by ourselves.
I come from the lands where the steppe meets the horizon — from a lineage where stories drift like wind and rituals are woven into the everyday. My path has been shaped by movement: across borders, languages, and memories. I carry within me the belief that transformation is not always loud — it often begins in stillness, in the soft exchange between one being and another.
Through this research, I wish to listen to the pulse that flows between cultures and creative practices — to connect with those who move differently, speak differently, dream differently — and yet feel the same invisible rhythm. I seek not similarity but correspondence, a dialogue that unfolds through difference and care.
I invite you to join me in this shared inquiry: to explore how meaning is born through relation — how performance, storytelling, and visual gestures can become acts of remembrance and renewal. Together we might discover how a song, a step, or a line of thread transforms when it encounters another’s rhythm — how the familiar shifts, how something new begins to breathe in the space between us.

Who are you, a being from another world?
And who am I, sending this signal across the trembling air, asking if you will join me in this passage between worlds?
I come not as a messenger, but as a seeker — guided by an unseen current that moves through gesture, breath, and silence. I am gathering eight souls, each carrying their own rhythm, memory, and myth. Together we will form a living circle — a constellation that hums with the quiet pulse of transformation.
Perhaps you have felt it too — that subtle call, like wind brushing against your skin, inviting you to listen. It is the same current that moves through rivers, through stories, through songs carried by time. It is the pulse that binds us — invisible yet unmistakably alive.
What draws me to you is not difference, but resonance — the way your art moves through the air, your story touching mine before we ever meet. I wish to invite you into this unfolding circle, where gestures echo, where sound becomes shape, and movement becomes meaning.
This is not a project but a pilgrimage — an invitation to dwell within The Pulse Between Worlds, where nothing stands still and every encounter becomes a passage. Here, transformation is not a storm but a whisper — a tremor beneath your feet, a breath between two beings who choose to listen.
Will you hear it?
Will you move with it?
Will you let it carry you into the space where worlds meet — and begin to pulse as one?

The essence of this work lies not in spectacle but in the creation of poetic rituals — spaces where body, memory, and place converse in quiet dialogue. These rituals are living frameworks through which culture is continually rewritten, where gesture becomes a language older than words, and meaning arises not from display, but from connection.
In these moments, the body is both vessel and messenger — an archive of what has been lived and an offering to what is yet to come. Each act, however small, becomes a thread in the weave of collective remembrance. Performance, then, becomes a form of care — a continual returning, a way of bridging myth and the everyday.
Through The Pulse Between Worlds, I invite creative beings to enter this circle of exchange — to co-create a space where art is not merely seen but felt, where the ritual emerges from listening, and where uncertainty becomes a place of possibility.
To live and create within The Pulse Between Worlds is to remain open — to tremors of transformation, to the slow unfolding of relation, to the pulse that connects us across cultures and lifetimes. Each encounter becomes both research and devotion — a shared awakening between worlds.
